Privacy policy
In case of discrepancies, the German version prevails.
This privacy policy explains which personal data we process in connection with the medical directory doktor.ch, for what purposes, and what rights you have. The Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) applies.
1. Controllers
The controller for data processing on this portal is doktor.ch AG, Höhestrasse 28, CH-8702 Zollikon (UID CHE-110.306.429). For privacy enquiries, please contact healthswitzerland@gmail.com.
STAPES GmbH, Gibraltarstrasse 32, CH-6003 Lucerne, built the website on behalf of doktor.ch AG (technical realisation, marketing) and, as factoring partner, handles invoicing for paid entries. It processes personal data exclusively within the scope of these mandates. The website is operated at the hosting provider Novatrend Services GmbH on servers located in Switzerland.
2. Directory data of healthcare providers
The core of the portal is a directory of physicians, dentists and other providers of the Swiss healthcare system. The published information (name, title, specialties, education, practice address, phone, website and — where released — e-mail address and photos) originates from the persons concerned themselves or from publicly accessible professional information.
Publication serves the overriding interest of transparent healthcare: patients should be able to find and contact providers. Any listed person can at any time correct or amend their entry or request removal of individual details via the «Request a change» form.
3. Data when using the website
When you visit the website, our hosting provider (Novatrend Services GmbH, Switzerland — servers located in Switzerland) processes technical access data (IP address, date and time, page accessed, browser type) in server log files to ensure operation, troubleshooting and abuse prevention. This data is deleted after an appropriate period.
We do not use any analytics or tracking tools and no advertising cookies. Only technically necessary data is processed.
Map tiles are loaded from the OpenFreeMap service; your IP address is transmitted to its servers. We do not pass on any further data.
4. Contact form, requests and orders
If you use the contact form, request an entry, report a change or order a paid entry (verified entry, Content PLUS), we process the data you provide (in particular e-mail address, entry data, messages, uploaded images) to handle your request and perform the contract.
To confirm your identity we send confirmation links by e-mail. Requests and their history are logged to prevent misuse.
5. Payment processing
Invoicing and collection for paid entries are handled by STAPES GmbH as factoring partner of doktor.ch AG.
For credit card payments, processing is carried out by the payment service provider Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Ireland, and affiliated companies, including in the USA). Stripe receives the data required for the payment (e-mail address, amount, card data). Card data is processed exclusively by Stripe and never reaches our systems. Stripe may transfer data to countries without an adequate level of data protection and ensures protection through recognised safeguards (standard contractual clauses). Details: stripe.com/privacy.
6. Disclosure to third parties
We only disclose personal data as described in this policy, where necessary for contract performance (hosting, payment processing), where legally required, or with your consent. The published directory data is publicly accessible and may be indexed by search engines.
7. Retention
We retain personal data only as long as required for the stated purposes or under statutory retention obligations (in particular accounting law, 10 years). Directory data remains published as long as the entry exists.
8. Your rights
You have the right to information about the personal data concerning you as well as to rectification, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability, to the extent provided by the FADP. Listed providers can request changes directly via the portal; all other requests: healthswitzerland@gmail.com.
The competent supervisory authority is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
9. Changes
We may amend this privacy policy as required. The version published on this page applies.
